The Tao Tao TBR7 is a road-legal (in most states) dual sport motorcycle. It includes all the necessary accoutrements to ride on the road (blinkers, brake lights, headlight, horn, etc). In most states you will need at a minimum:
- MCO (Manufacturer Certificate of Origin) – This is not a title, but is submitted to the state with some paperwork so they can issue a title
- Bill of sale from dealership in your name
- Insurance – Liability for myself and friends was almost nothing for a whole year
- Possible depending on state: Inspection, Sherriff VIN verification,
If you want your TBR7 to be road legal, do NOT purchase a used bike without an MCO or bill of sale that’s not in your name. The only exception to this is a TBR7 that was previously registered and already has a title (not MCO) for your state. State to state transfers vary but are pretty easy usually.
