So you want to purchase the most sub par dual sport motorcycle known as the Tao Tao TBR7? Great! Make sure you’ve read the starter guide so you know what you’re getting into. TBR7.com will only list reputable and positively reviewed company for the reference page. The reality is that none of these companies are perfect and the companies aren’t the ones shipping the bikes as they come across the ocean and through a warehouse directly to you. The best thing you can do is ensure you have some level of service from the seller and that you will get an MCO (Manufacturer certificate of origin). Without an MCO (say you bought a used tbr7) you would not be able to register the bike unless it was already registered and titled by the previous owner.

Do you like the look of the hawk better? It’s the sister to the TBR7 with very few differences. most parts interchange. The one big difference is they actually make the hawk in a fuel injected model (more $$$). A lot of people who end up here are on Hawks and just using this page as a reference, so I figured I’d post it up as an option. It, and the brozz 250 and lifan x-pect, are the real other competitors in the dual sport market at this price point but the brozz only has a similar engine, while the x-pect shares very little with the TBR7. If you have slightly more money to spend (~$3,200) then I’d highly suggest moving up to the Lifan KPX 250 – Also linked below. You get a true 250cc motorcycle, 6 speed, and no modifications needed. All of the bikes discussed here aren’t necessarily listed, but you can Google and find reputable dealers (TXpowersports, 360 Power Sports, Tiger Power sports, and Venom have all been good to us).
